Carmen
"Carmen"
The story is set in Seville ( Spain ) at the end of the I9th century. Carmen "La cigarrera" challenges Manuelita in a fight inside the Tobacco Factory and cuts her face which causes her arrest by Zúñiga. The Chief of the Regimento de Dragones of Alcalá, D. José is entrusted with her transfer to prison. Carmen seduces Don José, who then secures her release for which he himself is arrested and demoted.
Some time later, Carmen is at Lillias Pastia`s tavern, where she is to meet Don José. The bullfighter Escamillo appears, and Carmen is captivated by him.
The story intensifies and soon, in the bullring where Escamillo is fighting, Carmen meets Don José and decides to end their affair by returning the ring he gave her as proof of his love. Don José, enraged with jealousy and, as the spectators cheer Escamillo, stabs Carmen with his knife and kills her.

JEREZ. The world premiere of the latest production of Aida Gomez last night at the Teatro Villamarta, brought the audience to stand when the curtain fell. His vision of the immortal Carmen-based on Mérimée`s novel, which brought fame to Bizet- more sexy and perverse than ever liked the respectable both for their delicate dance and colorful as their music and choreography flawless aesthetics.
Flamenco, dance and opera Aida composed a figure molded at will. The artist has sacrificed the script, even undeveloped characters as Don José in order to emphasize the acts which understands that dancing can gain more life with music. As a lark, like the opera Aida and each time the corps de ballet danced under his baton. From the simplicity, the classic proved that anything is possible.
The goal was to fill the stage classical dance of excellent and got leftovers, although it became clear that this is the coming-out of a show that will now have to grind a tad.
Three coats of glue and two separate shawls; dancers scattered around the stage; Lillias become inviting flamenco dancing at first to be presented; giving the soldiers round, alcohol, understood, and taking dance to the beautiful clientele; Carmen showing her sensual woman irresistible makings ...
This was able to Aida Gomez together in a single act, but sometimes too many troubles.
